Use common media formats
JPG is usually safest for photos and MP4 is usually safest for videos. Convert HEIC, WebP, or AVIF images to JPG when uploads fail, and convert MOV or MKV videos to MP4 for broader compatibility.
Check quality after conversion
Open the converted file before posting. Check crop, orientation, color, text overlays, audio sync, and duration.
Keep source files
Keep the original photo or video if you plan to edit again. Use converted copies for upload and sharing.
