Match the assignment requirements
Canvas assignments may restrict file types. Use PDF for documents, JPG or PNG for images, MP3 for audio, and MP4 for video unless your instructor asks for something else.
Common Canvas fixes
Convert DOCX to PDF when formatting shifts, M4A to MP3 when an audio recording is rejected, and MOV to MP4 when an iPhone video will not upload.
Submit a checked copy
Preview the converted file, confirm the file size, and keep the original until Canvas shows the upload as submitted.
